Delano is a culturally diverse community that maintains its small-town character.

The community of Delano hosts several cultural activities and celebrations, including the Cinco de Mayor Fiesta, Philippine Weekend, 16 de Septiembre Celebration, and Harvest Holidays.

The local historical society has long been active in preserving and maintaining the City's historical character. Its endeavors are showcased in the many historical building in Delano's Heritage Park.
Things To Do
Delano also boasts a par-64, executive nine-hold golf course, and offers a tradition of activities for youth. Soccer, swimming, and Little League are among the most popular. In addition, locals enjoy close proximity to Lake Woollomes, just three miles southeast of Delano.

The Delano Regional Medical Center provides local access to outstanding physicians and healthcare professionals, state-of-the-art medical technology, and a home-like atmosphere. Both the Birthing Center and the outpatient surgery program are noted for their competent and personalized services.

Delano public schools, from kindergarten through college, focus on academic excellence. There are eight K-5 schools, three middle schools (grades 6-8), and three high schools. High school students, young and older adults, and the larger community benefit from the Delano Center, a campus of Bakerfield College, which offers a complete associate degree program and numerous job- and career-training programs.
